i have such good friends who introduce me to their friends. my friend at Loronography introduced me to her friend erica today who was willing to get all figure posey for me.
Natural window light. ISO 800. Contrast management and split toning in Photoshop for that copper lush beauty that makes grown men blush and some women turn away with just a huff. Yeah, you want a print of this. You know you do.
i probably have enough new stuff to show to post a new photo every day this week. so, let’s start with Sienna, simple beauty head shot lit with natural window light from a window behind her.
i debated a while whether or not i should share this. part of a session i shot recently to explore some ideas i had with a more erotic theme. please keep your comments respectful, though i’m anxious to hear what those of you watching have to say.
experiments with a gridded softbox. really loved the extremes of light and shadow accomplished with the gridded softbox that mashu brought when he visited us at my studio.
For the past several months i’ve been working with some friends to create a wonderful book that celebrates the life of Craig Smith and his vision to celebrate, “the beauty of the female body and the aesthetic appreciation of body art.” Craig was a local gallery owner and advocate of the alternative arts scene in Allentown, PA. Craig gave me one of the first opportunities to show my figurative artwork without reservations or fear. I’m proud to be a part of this to help celebrate his spirit and dedication to the not-so-traditional arts. Sadly, Craig did not have the time in this world to follow through with his idea. So, we have put together this book and show in his memory.
Many of the women that I photographed for the book are friends and talented models. The other two photographers in the book Lorna Doone and George Schmauch are among my closest friends. This has, in many ways, been a labor of love for all of us. Pre-orders for the book are available now and you can order your copy now at this web site.
We will also be hosting a book signing and artists’ reception where we will be showing artwork from the book as well as our personal collections. Please join us if you can.
thanks,
scott
