infrared film give a unique look and i’ve been experimenting with it quite a bit, trying to find the right combination of exposures and development. and most photographers would go out and run controlled tests. i work with engineers who asked me if i was doing this to determine the optimal combinations. but photography is more than that and less than that. trial and error, working around a feeling, trying to get inside the nervous system of the film and the chemistry i soup it with. i want to be able to see and know and this is how i want it to work.
keep in mind that i’m metering at ISO 6 and developing for 50% longer than recommended. kinda off the charted path. but when it works, you get this…
